The Feldenkrais Method

“What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies, but flexible brains. What I’m after is to restore each person to their human dignity.
– Moshe Feldenkrais

Slowing down in our fast-paced culture which is always asking us for more or to be faster, can be difficult. But sometimes it is just what we need in order to reduce stress and enjoy life moment to moment.

The method offers an excellent practice to support us to slow down and take time for ourselves. We do this through practicing slow movement, finding the support from the ground beneath us and learning to be friendly with ourselves.

This may be especially useful if you find it difficult to slow down through sitting meditation. Equally it could be used as a way to add a new dimension to your mindfulness practice. If you've never tried meditation, this is an interesting alternative.
